Draw a three point perspective drawing of rectangular solids. Follow the steps in Example 3-5. Place them at different locations on the paper such that some are above, below and on the horizon line. For some extra credit and good practice, draw a three point perspective drawing of a street scene similar to Example 3-6.

One final note, often in two and three point perspective drawings the vanishing points are located off the paper which can make layout difficult. If you find your vanishing points are not on the paper, tape your paper to a larger surface on which you can draw the vanishing points. Make sure you have a straightedge long enough to reach the paper from these vanishing points. If that doesn’t work you may just have to estimate the vanishing point locations and how they affect the drawing.
